Whether you’re building a brand new home or simply need to replace your refrigerator, knowing your options and what appliances are available today is important. You want to be certain you’re getting the appliances you need at a good price. Appliances today may look similar to those you’ve used all your life, but there have been some major changes in the past few decades. Devices are now interconnected with each other and with the internet, allowing you to control many of them with a few taps on your phone.
There are also some new appliances on the market that make certain tasks very convenient. These are appliances you may have never used and never realized you needed, but once you give them a try, you’ll wonder how you got through life without them. Here are some of these new convenient appliances you may want to try.
A Steam Caddy
Steam caddies look like a cabinet, but they’re much more than that. This appliance includes a small water reservoir, a heating element, and steam jets inside of it. Simply hang whatever clothing inside that you want steamed and turn on the device. In about half an hour, your clothing in the steam caddy is wrinkle-free. This is great for those who need to wear dress shirts and pants to work every day. There’s no need to get out the iron or do any work. The steam caddy handles it all.
A Built-In Coffee Machine
Kitchens never seem to have enough counter space, especially for those who use a lot of different appliances regularly. That’s why many people who are building homes go for the built-in microwave. It saves space. What if you could save even more space by having other appliances built-in to your kitchen walls? That’s the idea behind the built-in coffee machine.
This device does actually look similar to a microwave. Just put your cup in it, add the coffee of your choice, and hit the button. A few minutes later, you’ve got coffee. You could even install one of these coffee machines in your bedroom or office space so you have your coffee ready wherever you are.
Dishwasher Upgrades
While new dishwashers haven’t dramatically changed, manufacturers have added a nice little feature: an LED light. It may seem like an obvious addition when you think about it. Refrigerators and freezers have lights in them that come on automatically when they’re opened, so why not add one to the dishwasher? It makes it much easier to see if the dishes are cleaned and when a piece of silverware has escaped the basket and fallen down inside the dishwasher.
Smart Refrigerators
Smart refrigerators have been around for a while now, but it’s important to note that newer models have solved a number of issues older models had and have added new features. The Samsung Smart Hub refrigerator, for example, features a large screen on the door and comes with a number of useful apps installed.
This refrigerator connects to your home wi-fi network, allowing you to send information from the refrigerator to your phone or other device. It includes a camera that shows you the inside of the refrigerator without actually opening the door, reducing energy costs and helping you not overbuy at the grocery store. It also provides detailed monitoring of how much power your refrigerator is using, including showing how often the door is open. Of course, you can also use the screen to make shopping lists, leave messages for others, and display recipes.
Other Wi-Fi Appliances
Your refrigerator isn’t the only thing that you can connect to your wi-fi. Almost every new appliance is internet-enabled now. Ovens can be set to pre-heat right from your phone, making it easy to start dinner as soon as you walk in the door. New cars can talk to your home’s exterior lighting, turning them on as soon as you drive in. Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and other smart assistants are also becoming smarter and more useful, adding convenience to our lives in ways that no other appliance has before.
These are just a few of the newest appliances that can make certain chores or daily tasks incredibly convenient. If you’re building a home, why not add a few of these appliances to it? If you already own a home, maybe it’s time to upgrade. Adding a little convenience may be well worth the cost.
