This is the second installment of our 2016 new product innovations for the home blog straight from the International Builders Show (IBS). Waukesha homebuilder David Belman, of Belman Homes, attended the show and is highlighting some of the latest color trends that you will be seeing in the industry in the upcoming year.
There is such diversity in new products these days and trends are changing much faster than in the past, especially with the way that people utilize the Internet to find products and design tips. Trying to nail the next big color or trend can be tricky to forecast. Here are a few things that caught our eyes.
Flooring:
The heavy distressed look seems to be quite popular these days and obtaining a balance between rustic and industrial seems to be a focus. Check out these interesting Armstrong wood floors:
Countertops:
Quartz tops continue to improve in print and design. Larger patterns are now much more realistic and various shades of grey and white marble designs seem to be the best sellers currently. Check out some of the photos of the newest colors:

Hardware Finishes:
While each company had their own spin on what finish was in, Polished Chrome seemed to be featured quite a bit this year in the displays. Companies also rolled out a new French Gold color and also a Titanium color that could catch on in the future. It is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Paint Colors:
A wide array of colors seem to be hitting the market and many of the hot 2016 paint colors seem to borrow from the softer therapeutic colors featuring alabaster and marble toned hues. If softer isn’t your style, the other theme that is going to be popular is the remake of the industrial revolution with more rugged colors such as putty, pewter, olive, and dusky wool colors.
