We’ve been in our Cedarwood II home for 3 months now, and we are pleased to tell you Belman Homes has built us a beautiful, high quality home, just as we envisioned it. How many people do you know can say that about their builder? We can say that about Belman Homes. They know their business and that means you can relax with confidence that you will have a beautiful, high quality home.
We chose Belman Homes carefully, as this is the biggest investment most people make in their lifetimes. We started with a clear vision of the main features we wanted in our new home. We then began doing our homework, looking deeper, beyond the aesthetics to the builder’s workmanship, track record, what their crews say about them, and the experiences of other customers (not just those on the reference list provided!). What kind of quality really goes in to your new home? We narrowed it down to (4) builders with (4) similar models and then really looked deeper. We walked through homes under construction, carefully looking at fit and detail; we talked to builder’s crews, we talked to the local building inspector, and we carefully used our own good, solid judgment and instincts. We checked out Belman Homes thoroughly before we started.

Of the (4) builders we qualified (all in the top 10 of the “Milwaukee Magazine” survey), the Don Belman home was the higher quality, better value home, with higher quality components in every criterion. Belman was the most knowledgeable builder we found in the industry! They were not just a little better than the competition; they had a wealth of information learned through growing up in this business. He listened to us intently, provided solutions, knew cost pricing, and had good money-saving ideas for all of our questions right on the spot. Beyond the home, he had recommendations for landscaping, driveways just anything we might need. He knows his business, and as part of the ownership, he could make decisions and get things done now. He truly wanted us to be happy with the end result.

Their quality goes beyond Don, and David Belman and staff. We found their crews to be dedicated tradesmen. Our home was handcrafted on site. The electricians, the plumbing crew, the bricklayer who hand built our 18 ft fireplace, and our finish carpenter all these people took extreme pride in producing a quality product. They built our home as if it were their own. Our home was finished on schedule; we had 3 minor change orders during the process, and no cost overruns. Their standard components are top quality: Kohler fixtures, Pella windows, Delta faucets, Jacuzzi whirlpool, Whirlpool appliances, and Lennox heating/cooling systems.

When it was closing time, Bill Schmidt, the Controller, gave up part of his Friday evening to accommodate our work schedule. Great customer service on top of it all!  Belman Homes continues to win Metropolitan Milwaukee and National Association of Home Builder because they produce consistent results for customers for over 20 years.

There were so many builders and their models to look at, and I felt that we looked at them all. BELMAN was the only one where “what you see is what you get”. It was such a pleasure to go through the model with David, see the trim and accessories we wanted, and when I asked “how much extra?”, being told that it’s standard!I wanted a large , comfortable loft and a room for an office easy to work in. Geralyn had a wish list too (jaccuzzi, big kitchen, large master bedroom). BELMAN had a model that met them all! But it didn’t end there. After all the horror stories we heard about building a home, the process with BELMAN was actually a pleasant experience from start to finish. Talk about a smooth, painless transition! Ger and I honestly love this home! We are truly living our dream…and we have a lot of admiring (some jealous) friends who keep telling us just that! We built our Don Belman home in 2000 and have lived in it since November of 2000. What we love most about the home is the way in which it was constructed. Everything from the framing of the house using 2×6 construction to the masonry work was of very high quality. We also like the fact that our house was built without a lot of pre-assembled parts being shipped to the site. The framing of the house was literally done using a pile of wood on site. The carpenters were able to build what they needed on site as opposed to bringing in pre-built parts and just nailing them together. The masonry work on our house is outstanding and really accents the rest of the house. We liked the fact that Belman encourages the use of a brick and has a great mason doing the work. Overall, this was the first house that we built and were very satisfied with the end result.”

As the framing crew came on-site, our drawings came to life. We were pleased with the continual progress on our home. We visited the building site on a daily basis and saw progress each day. This is our 2nd home in Waukesha. Our first home was purchased in 1996 after Kim and I married and it was not a Belman home. Our experience was not up to our high expectation. While living in our 1st home we had the opportunity to watch many of your homes built and met several families in the area who enjoyed the quality craftsmanship and smooth closing process. We moved to Houston for 18 months and returned to Waukesha in August 2000. Our walk through and landscaping went well. We are able to walk up and down our street and meet new neighbors and talk about kids and back yard parties, not building problems and missed schedules. “From the beginning, with a lot selection Belman Homes was extremely patient and helpful and went above and beyond to secure the lot I ended up buying (not within established subdivision along with several other critical things I needed). This hunt was not easy. They continued to provide me with great support as I went through the building contract/selection. All the while providing me details and advice that allowed me to do my own research and make good decisions. Since my salesperson was a also a licensed real estate agent, he also showed me several existing homes that were on the market. I never felt pressured to build in a Belman subdivision, or for that matter with Belman homes, which was very important to me (I don’t like pushy sales people). On one of the few occasions that I had a meeting at the Belman office, I had the pleasure of meeting Don as well as his wife as well. Belman Homes is a very nice, family run business who seem to genuinely care about their customers wants & needs. David Belman continues to put up with all my inquiries about possible selection changes. For me, if I don’t feel like I’ve explored every option, then I wonder if I’m making the right decision. So being fully educated and aware is important to me so I have few regrets in the end. I’ve lost very little sleep and feel empowered and educated with each decision (even if I don’t end up with the high end product, I know I’ve explored it:). So, the team at BelmanHomes have been true assets to me along the way. They apparently must have a clause in their hiring practices to only hire and work with nice people, which has made the building process for me thus far truly enjoyable. From Linda, the office manager to Jeff, the construction manager, to Nicole the Interior Design coach and even to their contacts at their contracted stores (Mark at Drexel) everyone is very nice and honest. Mark at Drexel provided me samples within 12 hours of them being requested. And then after hearing my personal circumstances, provided me some information/advice that basically had me reducing flooring selection (talked me out of his product), which is a true testimony of honesty and doing what’s best for the customer!! And, I cannot forget to mention one of my favorite Belman contacts, Chase the furry office greeter, whom I adore. I’m a true dog lover. This may sound trivial, but typically if you are a dog lover you tend to trust other dog lovers. So, including their dog(s) on their website (which at the time was Casey) meant a lot to me. I cannot say enough about this company. I am about 1/2 through the building process and as a single mom, many people thought I was getting in over my head.  I feel I have all the support, guidance, and help I need. Besides all the positive relationships that I’ve experienced along the way, the quality of their homes is top notch. Another good indicator of the company Belman represents is that their contractors that me/my family have spoken to, have always had positive things to say about Belman as a builder.
